Scarlett
4 year old spayed English female lab, 73 lbs
Scarlett is an absolutely darling sweetheart of a girl, who is happy all the time. Super happy. She’s a beautiful English lab with the classic blocky head and otter tail. Her coat is lush and has mahogany highlights. She’s short and compact and in great shape. Her only issue is that she was recently diagnosed with diabetes and her owners travel a lot so couldn’t handle the twice daily shots. The shots are easy and she doesn’t mind them at all. Diabetes doesn’t affect longevity. So Scarlett is a perfect girl who just needs two insulin shots every day. She’s completely house trained and has good house manners. She might try to counter surf on occasion if you leave something tempting on the counter. She’s highly food motivated and smart. She needs a raised water bowl. If it’s on the floor, she’ll play in it. As you might have guessed, she loves to swim. She knows sit, stay, and comes when called. She walks pretty well on a leash but stops to sniff everything. Scarlett loves to retrieve and she ADORES toys. There can never be too many toys in her life. She’s also known to pick up a shoe or two and carry them around, tho she is not at all destructive. Scarlett is crate trained and her foster leaves her crate open at night. Sometimes she chooses to sleep in it, and sometimes she chooses a dog bed, but she sleeps through the night. She’s good in the car and rides well. Scarlett LOVES other dogs and does great with the foster’s three labs. She’d really like a dog buddy in the family. She loves to play and gets the zoomies when she’s excited. Scarlett would be OK as an only dog if there are dog buddies in her life. She is also great with cats, kids and horses. As always, we want Scarlett to go to a home where someone is around most of the time. This girl is pure joy. She not only wags her tail, but she wags her whole toosh all the time. She’s a very special girl and we know the right family is out there for her.
