Scout
5-6 month old yellow male puppy, 51 lbs
Scout is a darling boy who is a bit insecure, but he loves to cuddle. Scout was found as a stray and fortunately some good people helped him make his way to MBLRR. He’s the cutest boy with his big paws and the softest, most lush coat you’ve ever felt. He also has the sweetest face. Scout probably didn’t have the best treatment in his early months, but he so wants to trust. He loves to cuddle and melts in your lap when you start petting him. Belly rubs are a favorite. He’s a puppy and has major puppy energy, followed by big naps. He’s initially nervous meeting new people but warms up quickly. He’s house trained and loves jumping up on the couches to take a nap. If you want to get him out of the chair where he’s very comfy, he’ll go dead weight in the hopes you won’t be able to dislodge him. He’s not the right dog for anyone who doesn’t allow dogs on the furniture. He sleeps in a crate at night, tho probably doesn’t need one. He usually sleeps through the night. Scout is new to the leash, and tho he doesn’t pull all that much, he weaves back and forth. He does jump up on some people when excited, but it’s a soft jump and will be easily trained. Scout absolutely needs another mentor dog in his new family. He adores the foster’s female lab and follows her moves. On walks, he follows her nicely. If he’s walking by himself, he is much more hesitant. She gives him confidence. Scout is a fun, crazy puppy when in the house or on the property, but he gets nervous about new people and new noises when outside. He needs a person who will encourage him and help him overcome his fears. He rides nicely in a crate in the car, but doesn’t know how to get in on his own. Scout is smart and would really benefit from a training class. We think he’d be fine with kids but a calm household would be best for him, so older kids would be better. As always, we want Scout to go to a home where someone is around most of the time. He’s a total love and has a gentleness about him that is lovely for a young pup.

JJ
5 year old neutered white male, 75 lbs
JJ is a super sweet, relatively calm boy with a heart of gold. He and Laila (also posted) were surrendered because they were being left alone too long due to work requirements and the family felt they needed more attention. They are not littermates (they were born in separate litters 5 days apart) but have been together since they were 8 weeks old. They don’t need to be adopted together but if there’s a family that wants them both, we’ll consider that. JJ is a very handsome guy with a soft coat and gentle brown eyes. He is completely house trained and has excellent house manners. He doesn’t counter surf, but he does like the couch. He’s also good on a dog bed. He’s submissive in nature and great with other dogs, calm with cats. JJ (his real name is Jaime) likes chew toys and rubber ones. He walks well on a leash using the harness that comes with him. He knows sit, stay and “inside.” Once in awhile he’ll jump up if excited but not often. He sleeps through the night on a dog bed next to the foster’s bed, snuggled up with Laila. JJ is good in the car and rides well. He’s a good eater. He’s fine left alone in the house without issue. JJ will alarm bark and sometimes will bark a bit while playing with another dog. He’s shown no interest in retrieving so far. JJ is a good swimmer but not wild about the water. Laila has always been in charge and he just goes along, so would be fine staying with her, fine with another dog in the family, and fine as an only dog. JJ is very affectionate and loves belly rubs, sitting close to you for pets and gives sweet kisses. He’s also been known to jump on the foster’s bed in the morning to encourage her to get up and start the day. As always we want JJ to go to a home where someone is around most of the day. Oh, and he’s great with kids….kids age 5 and older would be best for him. He’s a really special boy and whoever adopts him will be very lucky to have him.

Laila
5 year old spayed black female, 65 lbs
Laila is a very smart, playful girl who loves attention. She and JJ (also posted) were surrendered because they were being left alone too long due to work requirements and the family felt they needed more attention. Laila and JJ are not littermates (they were born in separate litters 5 days apart) but have been together since they were 8 weeks old. They don’t need to be adopted together but if there’s a family that wants them both, we’ll consider that. Laila is a pretty girl with a soft coat and lovely brown eyes. She’s supremely confident and is completely in charge of her “brother.” Laila is fully house trained and sleeps on a dog bed next to the foster’s bed at night. She does counter surf so food needs to be tucked safely away. She also loves getting on the couch. Otherwise, she has good house manners and can be left alone without incident for short periods. Laila adores her toys and is also a retriever. She adores her food and is a big fan of treats. She comes with her own harness and walks well on leash. Laila rides well in the car. She is great with other dogs and calm around cats. Laila really likes to swim. She knows sit, stay, and “inside.” Laila will alarm bark but otherwise isn’t a barker. She’s friendly and good with kids age 5 and older. And she’s very affectionate. Laila loves belly rubs and pets and gives great kisses. As always we want her to go to a home where someone is around most of the day. She’s energetic but not hyper…..just a really fun, nice girl.

Kate
8 week old yellow female puppy, 10.3 lbs
Kate and her littermates are typical, adorable lab babies. They were the last of their litter and their breeder is done breeding so we snapped them up. They have beautiful coats and are just the sweetest puppies. They’re not housebroken, of course, but they fuss when they have to go out to pee. Their foster mom gets up twice during the night to take them out and they settle right back down to sleep. They only whine briefly when put in the crate at night and then they’re out. They have not peed in their crate at all and didn’t pee in the crate on the long car ride when we picked them up either. Very good puppies. They come when you whistle or call them. They’re very attuned to people and all love to be held. They literally melt in your arms when you hold them. They love toys, chewing and exploring. They’re confident puppies. Kate is the spunkiest of the bunch but they all have good puppy energy. They will be fine with another dog or as an only dog, but they’ll miss doggie companionship so will need dog buddy friends for sure. They are on a new food and are pretty good eaters. We would suggest signing them up for puppy classes right away. They’re smart and will do well. They do get underfoot because they’re very drawn to people so should not be around anyone that doesn’t have good reflexes. They’re not particularly bitey puppies so would be fine with kids age 4 and older. So far they don’t jump up. As always we want them to go to homes where someone is around most of the time.
Kate is going to her new home this weekend. Thanks to all who called!
